What do you mean by the palm method or hand portions?

June 15, 2025 by

Hand portions are a simple way to estimate your general nutrition intake. how much to eat. It’s called the palm method, because the hand is used as a rough guide:

  • Palm = 1 serving protein
  • Fist = 1 serving veggies
  • Cupped hand = 1 serving carbs
  • Thumb = fats

It’s flexible, quick, and can be a nice alternative to calorie counting or macro tracking if those methods aren’t for you.

You’ll also get a printable guide that explains things more in detail and tracking sheets based on your individual needs and goal. If you have more questions about the palm method, feel free to email me at hello@naablevy.com.
